African Canadian Legal Clinic The ACLC provides advice and representation to African Canadians in all legal forums, especially race-based test case litigation, which are likely to result in significant legal precedence. Among its many services, the ACLC maintains a library and resource centre, publishes a newsletter, provides summary legal advice, and writes manuals.

Australasian Legal Information Institute The Australasian Legal Information Institute (AustLII) provides free internet access to Australian legal materials. AustLII's broad public policy agenda is to improve access to justice through better access to information. To that end, we have become one of the largest sources of legal materials on the net, with over seven gigabytes of raw text materials and over 1.5 million searchable documents. AustLII publishes public legal information -- that is, primary legal materials (legislation, treaties and decisions of courts and tribunals); and secondary legal materials created by public bodies for purposes of public access (law reform and royal commission reports for example).

British and Irish Legal Information Institute The British and Irish Legal Information Institute (BAILII) provides access to the most comprehensive set of British and Irish primary legal materials that are available for free and in one place on the internet. As at 6 February 2003, BAILII includes 34 databases covering 6 jurisdictions. The system contains around six gigabytes of legal materials and around 475,000 searchable documents with about 15 million internal hypertext links.

Business and Human Rights Resource Centre The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is an independent, international, non-profit organisation, in a collaborative partnership with Amnesty International sections and leading academic institutions. The aim of this "online library" is to provide easy access (through links) to a wide range of materials on subjects relating to business and human rights. 

Canadian Environmental Law Association The Canadian Environmental Law Association (CELA) is a non-profit, public interest organization established in 1970 to use existing laws to protect the environment and to advocate environmental law reforms. It is also a free legal advisory clinic for the public, and will act at hearings and in courts on behalf of citizens or citizens’ groups who are otherwise unable to afford legal assistance.

Centre for Constitutional Studies The Centre for Constitutional Studies was established in the fall of 1987 as a result of the collaborative efforts of the Departments of History and Political Science and the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta. The Centre was founded to encourage and facilitate the interdisciplinary study of constitutional matters both nationally and internationally. The Centre's research activities are complemented by an education programme consisting of public lectures, conferences and publications. The Centre also serves as a clearing house for information and materials relevant to constitutional studies.

Centre of Criminology University of Toronto - Library Through the Criminology Information Service (CIS), the Centre provides professional and innovative solutions to criminal justice communities worldwide. The CIS houses the leading Canadian research collection of criminological material, consisting of more than 25.000 books, journals, government reports, statistics and other documents, which can be accessed in person or electronically via the World Wide Web. The information covers a wide range of subject areas, including public and private policing; violence deviance and social control; young offenders; criminology, and criminal law.

Here you’ll find over 5,800 annotated links to educational sites with free resources, all organized by theme pages and keyword search

Electronic Law Library An Internet resource designed to provide the residents of British Columbia with access to legal information. A service of the Legal Resource Centre of the Legal Services Society.

Foreign Law Research (FLARE) FLARE is a collaboration between the major libraries collecting law in the United Kingdom: Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, Bodleian Law Library, Squire Law Library, British Library, and School of Oriental and African Studies. It is working to improve the coverage and accessibility of foreign legal materials at the national level and to raise expertise in their use.

Government Gazettes Online Government Gazettes, which are published by federal governments worldwide, are the means through which the government can communicate to officials and the general public. Although most countries publish a gazette, their regularity and content varies widely, which is noted in the description of each gazette. Gazettes are useful not only to monitor the actions of the government, but also as primary source documentation in research. This website attempts to list all online government gazettes and their characteristics to aid researchers. A description of the contents and coverage are included for each gazette. Anyone wishing to do further research on foreign law will find useful resources in the bibliography.

John A. Weir Law Library The John A. Weir Memorial Law Library ocuupies the first three floors of the Law Centre at the University of Alberta.  This site offers the "Ask a Question" service, e-mail reference, e-mail inter-library loans, and access to the Law Library subject librarians.

Library (Supreme Court of Canada) The Library of the Supreme Court of Canada provides the research base for the Court in its role of deciding questions of national importance. It is a research library geared to meet the immediate information needs of the Court. The Library has an extensive collection of both primary and secondary materials from the major common and civil law jurisdictions: Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, France and Belgium; a large collection of legal periodicals, loose-leaf services and major legal texts.

National Crime Prevention Centre - Publications A core activity of the NCPC is the development and dissemination of practical knowledge so that crime prevention practitioners can apply it to the development, implementation and evaluation of crime prevention initiatives. As knowledge is developed, disseminated and applied, the evidence base for effective and cost-effective crime prevention is continually built.

National Library of Canada The National Library's collections focus primarily on Canadiana, works in all subjects written by, about or of interest to Canadians, published in Canada or abroad.

Northwest Territories Court Library System

Official document system of the United Nations The Official Document System (ODS) covers all types of official United Nations documentation, beginning in 1993. Older UN documents are, however, added to the system on a daily basis. ODS also provides access to the resolutions of the General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council and the Trusteeship Council from 1946 onwards.

The Land Centre The Land Centre is a non-profit agency dedicated to providing access to land use resources for British Columbia and Alberta. An internet clearinghouse providing instant access to information about real estate and land use through our network of webpages. The Land Centre is a centre without walls, accessible to anyone with a computer, phone or fax.

The Public Library of Law (PLoL) The Public Library of Law (PLoL) is an online database of U.S. laws. PLoL provides access to a wide variety of legal resources for legal professionals and the general public alike. PLoL is a free service, but an initial registration is required. Registered PLoL user will have free access to the state law of all 50 States, the Supreme and Appellate Court cases from 1997 to the present, Constitutions from all 50 states, Court Rules from all 50 States, Regulations and Administrative Codes from selected states, all U.S. Supreme Court Cases, all Federal Circuit Courts from 1950 to the present, the United States Code, U.S. Code of Federal Regulations and Federal Court Rules.

The Universal Human Rights Index of United Nations Documents The Universal Human Rights Index provides instant access for all countries to human rights information from the United Nations system. You can access the information by country, by rights and by body.
