About Us
The Legal Resource Centre in collaboration with Alberta Justice has created an online directory of public legal education and information organizations in Alberta. The directory serves as a referral point to other law-related resources, sources, and services in the province. If you are an organization that would like to be included in A-Link, please check out the criteria and then contact us.
The need for such a directory has been recognized by several of the organizations currently providing law-related information and services to the public. The idea originally arose at the Justice Summit in 1999.
The Partners
The Legal Resource Centre plans, develops, and markets a cost-recovery program of non-degree educational opportunities in the area of continuing law-related education for
- the general public who require knowledge to attend to their personal affairs, to participate in community activities, and to carry out citizenship responsibilities;
- professionals and others who require knowledge about the law and related processes to carry out their responsibilities including serving the public or some sectors of it; and
- people who are trained in law (including articling students, lawyers and judges) or who have law-related careers (including police, court personnel and corrections personnel).
Alberta Justice and Attorney General is responsible for Alberta's laws, prosecutions, the courts, the provision of legal advice to government, and ensuring the justice system meets the needs of Albertans. Alberta Justice works in conjunction with the Alberta Solicitor General to help ensure Albertans have safe communities in which to live and raise their families.
