Education opportunities exist in Alberta for the both the public and intermediaries to learn more about public legal education. These interdisciplinary opportunities provide general education and information about law and the legal system for people with little or no legal training.
Edmonton John Howard Society - Public Legal Education
Edmonton John Howard Society works to promote a better understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the consequences of breaking the law. This is accomplished through educational presentations provided to youth in the school system and the community.
Lethbridge Community College - Public Legal Education
The LCC Public Legal Education Program provides general education and information about law and the legal system for people without legal training. The program is funded by a grant from the Alberta Law Foundation. Lethbridge Community College is a member of PLENA, the Public Legal Education Network of Alberta.
Medicine Hat College Continuing Studies - Public Legal Education
Continuing Studies offers a broad range of courses, seminars, and workshops about public legal education, designed to enhance the learning and enrich the lives of people in South Eastern Alberta. Courses are taught by experienced Instructors and are open to all members of the community.
Metro Community College - Continuing Education Programs (Edmonton)
Metro Continuing Education offers Law for the Layperson. Lawyers volunteer their time as instructors for Metro’s Law for the Layperson program, which covers the laws in Alberta and how they affect you. Law course fees are kept low thanks to funding from the Alberta Law Foundation.
Business law, copyright or intellectual property law, employment law, family law, housing law, personal injury law, the courts, and wills and estates law are the main legal areas covered by the courses. Most courses are delivered in the classroom, but some, such as Watch the Trials are held at the Alberta Law Courts. As well, Metro delivers an on-line law course.

Safe and Caring Schools and Communities - Workshops for Teachers
The Alberta Teachers' Association offers workshops which were either developed in collaboration with the Society for SACSC, or relate to SACSC topics (including bullying, diversity, citizenship and human rights).
