This lesson, designed for upper elementary and junior high social studies classes, focuses on social action and participation in democracy.
Using a grade six student, Isaac, as an example, participants are guided through the inquiry model with the aim of being involved in social action. The action projects are designed to be authentic, add to the collective voice, and truly enable students to develop a deep understanding that, as citizens, they have a capacity to influence local, national, and global changes.
